Nancy As A Kid
Everyone was thrilled when a baby girl was born on March 26 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland in a neighborhood called Little Italy, to Thomas and Patricia D’Alesandro. As she grew up she enjoyed life with her six brothers, Thomas, Nicholas, Franklin Roosevelt, Hector and Joseph ( One died at a young age ), even though she had many jobs. For example, one of her jobs was to record all the favors that her father needed to help with in the “Favor Folder”, as he was the mayor of Baltimore, Maryland for eight years. Nancy even said it was him that influenced her in her future career.
Education/Starting A Family
Nancy grew up to be a bright young woman, and went to the Institute of Notre Dame, a private all girls, catholic high school. The college she attended was Trinity College, now known to be Trinity Washington University. While studying there she met a student named Paul Pelosi who later became her husband. Nancy and Paul decided to move to San Francisco, where she gave birth to five children Nancy Corrine, Christine, Jacqueline, Paul Jr., and Alexandra.
Entering Politics
While focused on raising a family, Pelosi slowly started an interest in politics. Her family was always on the Democratic side, so she got started as a volunteer for the Democratic Party. She organized and helped with parties and campaigns. Slowly she rose and soon served as the state and the northern chair of the California Democratic Party.
Political Career
Politics followed Pelosi’s career, and in 2001 she was elected “Minority Whip”. Soon after, in 2004, she was elected Minority Leader. In 2007 Pelosi entered an election and won! After that election she was named the First Woman Speaker of the House. Up to date, Pelosi is known to be the highest ranking female politician in American History. Pelosi, once again, now serves as the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
My Tribute
,My tribute, "Powerful Pelosi" which is appropriately 13 feet, will be Nancy Pelosi standing behind a podium with a gavel and a mike. Every thing will also be raised on a platform that has a plaque on it explaining the scene. Pelosi will be made of bronze, because bronze is a strong material. Not to mention, my tribute will be located in Little Italy, a town in Baltimore, Maryland where Pelosi grew up. " Powerful Pelosi" expresses how bold and strong Pelosi really is.
